Essence Irreplaceable

Hi!

Today I've got a polish to show you from which I don't know whether I like it or not... :)

Essence Irreplaceable

Irreplaceable is sort of a nude-color with golden flakies. It's not really glitter, it more looks like really small and tiny flakies in it.

It is part of the Colour & Go collection from Essence. I own some more polishes from this collection (if you can call it that way?) and a big plus is that they cover in only one coat!

I actually don't know if I like this color or don't... If I look at the pictures, I think it is a beautiful color. But if I look at my hands, in certain light and angles, I don't know if I still like it. Maybe I have to get used to it...

See how the gold flakies are sparkling?
I'm wearing this color for one whole day, and I must say I am getting a bit bored of it... (already!) so maybe I'll put some Konad over it :)

But you've seen it now... If you like sparkling gold, you'll need to get this! It's available at Kruidvat and cost €1,79.

What do you think? Would you wear a color like this?

Have a great weekend!

Bye, bye acrylics... Hello natural nails!

Hi everyone!

Last weekend I lost a nail... I don't wear tips, but the whole acrylic layer on my nail popped off...
So I've had it a bit with acrylics. I didn't felt like it to fix it, and about an hour later I lost another nail.
That's when I decided to get them off, and leave it like that...

Ofcourse my natural nails are very thin and flexible at the moment. But hey, they haven't had oxygen for about 2,5 years! I decided to buy some of the Sally Hansen strengtheners and nurture my nails with my buffing file, Solar Oil and handcream. And a couple of days later they actually looked very good!

So bring on the nailpolish, bring on Konad and let's see how they look now!

Don't mind the little bubbles you see here, it's caused by the Sally Hansen Strengthener; you don't see them irl...

Here's what I did:
1 - Sally Hansen Miracle Nail Thickener (Thin Nail Strengthener) : 2 coats
2 - OPI Bubblebath : 2 coats
3 - Stamping French Manicure with Beautiful Scratchers White + Konad M19
4 - Seche Vite Topcoat : 2 coats

And now they are much, much less bendable (is that even a word?) and stronger!

This picture is showing some tipwear, because I always do my nails late at night. Actually right before I go to sleep. And because of that, I don't have time to install my lightbox and camera etc. So I often take pictures a day (or 2) later. And that's why this picture is showing some tipwear.

But, I must admit (although I'm a real acrylic-lover) I kinda like my natural nails. It was weird to see my own nails after such a long time. But I like them, so I think I'm going to keep them this way for a while.

Here they are, the little bastards... I popped them right off... :)

I wonder how long it takes for I got my first nail broken :)

Since I'm all into natural nails now, I can use some tips and advice: what's your favorite nail hardener or strenghtener? And what's your nailcare routine? Let me know...!

Have a nice evening!

Shopping: Kleancolor, OPI, Catrice, Essence, Milani & E.L.F. polishes

Hi everyone!

I want to show you some new polishes I got the last couple of days...

Suddenly all of my orders came in, and within a blink, I just own 14 more polishes :)

Actually I'm not a real fan of glitter polishes, but I keep buying them, haha!
And I must admit: these Kleancolor polishes really look stunning in the bottles, don't you think?

Don't know when I'm going to wear that Kleancolor Neon Pink, because it is way to neon to wear to work, but I had to have it... And that counts for the Milani polish too. but I love the bigger glitters in there! And like I've said before: I'm a sucker for nudes, so I had to try an E.L.F.-polish, and liked this color! I Saw Essence Irreplaceable on some blog, and really liked it, so had to have that one too!

I don't know if the color is going to suit my (bit yellowish) skincolor, but I've seen some swatches of OPI's I Vant To Be A Lonestar and I knew I had to have this one too! Wondering if it's going to be beautiful on me or not :) And Bubblebath is a nice pinkish color to wear alone or as a French Manicure. I say: always good to have some of these colors in your stash! :) And the last one of these OPI's is My Private Jet; the 2nd version, the dark brown one; guess this one is nice in the fall...

Although Catrice is changing some of their polishes under the same name (weird!), I like this 2nd version of Let's Mauve On! better than the first one. And I saw that this one is great for stamping too, so a must have! I Sea You is probably a color I wouldn't wear alone, but it's nice to have a beautiful green to make flower leaf-nailart (or something like that :) ) and the last one of these Catrice polishes is Welcome To The Jungle from the Papagena-collection. I think it is a bit dark, but maybe I wear it... Or maybe I'll just use it for stamping :)

What do you think of my score? Like these or don't? And would you wear these colors?

Enjoy the weekend!

H&M Peppermint Fusion

Hi y'all!

Here I am again, this time to show you a polish I really like: H&M Peppermint Fusion!

The diagonal lines you see are my windows :)

Peppermint Fusion is a very beautiful shimmery blue...

These are 2 coats, with 2 coats of SV. Application was fine, finish is really beautiful, although quite hard to capture with my camera in daylight.

With Flash... (see the shimmer?)

Without Flash (now it looks like it has a crème finish!)

I love the shimmer in this polish...

But... I got a bit bored after a couple of days, so I stamped  accentnails (ringfingers) with XL-plate B

This H&M polish is €3,95 and available in H&M stores and their online store.

Do you have H&M polishes? If you do, which one(s)?

Have a nice evening!

Shopping @ Inglot Amsterdam...

Good evening all!

Last weekend my colleague and I went shopping in Amsterdam... We went to the Bobbi Brown and MAC counter in De Bijenkorf, we went to The Make up Store and ofcourse to the MAC Store and Inglot.

Unfortunately Inglot was the last shop on our list and we only had half an hour to shop until the shop closed. So we were in a hurry! Therefore I only bought 1 item:

Inglot's Freedom Eyeshadow Pallet
But first some information about Inglot:

INGLOT Company was established over 25 years ago by Wojtek Inglot, a young chemist working at that time in R&D department in pharmaceutical company.
His principal objective was to produce high quality products at fair and reasonable prices, using only the best possible ingredients and raw materials from the most reputable suppliers.

BE-AU-TI-FUL! :)

Inglot, Van Baerlestraat 8, Amsterdam

First reaction when we entered the store: WOW! This is heaven!
The store looked really nice and beautiful!

After we talked to a MUA, we looked around and tested some products.
We could've stayed the whole evening if  it was up to us, but ofcourse the shop had to close, so after a while we made up our choice and bought some products. One of the MUA's showed us how to use the make up we wanted to bought and that's when I decided I HAD to have some eyeshadow :)

Like I said before: I never wear eyeshadow, but these colors were so beautiful and pigmented that I couldn't resist buying one of those lovely colors. Inglot has a great system called: The Freedom System. You can compose your own pallet! Just make a choice out of their eyeshadow collection and the shopassistent puts the magnetic pots in the pallet and voila!

And so I did. I wanted to buy a set of 2 colors, because I first had to see if I could do it myself at home! I bought this little pallet:

Inglot uses no color names but codes, so here they are...

I played on safe by choosing earth colors because I think that suits me best and isn't that notable. Maybe when I get the hang of it, I'll buy some more colors. The MUA guaranteed me that I will be back next month! We'll see about that (... I guess she's right!)

What do you think of the Freedom Pallet? And have you been to Inglot already?

Have a great weekend!

Color Club Incognito

Hi everyone!

I'm going to post the pictures of my visit to Inglot soon... I promise! :)

First I would like to show you the manicure with one of my new polishes: Color Club Incognito!

Incognito is a beautiful mannequin-nude or flesh-toned color (at least my flesh tone). It's a crème polish that went on really well. Here I'm wearing 3 layers and 2 layers of topcoat (I love shiny nails!)

I think this nude color suits almost everyone with a lighter skincolor. I'm very happy with this polish, but I'm a sucker for nudes :)

I was a bit late with taking pictures; I couldn't wait to paint my nails with this polish and took the pictures about 3 days later. So on these pictures there are some minor scratches...

See the scratch on my ringfinger?

I really love this color, and I'm still wearing it (this is the 7th day!)

Do you like nudes? And have you found your favorite mannequin-polish already?

Have a great day!

Shopping @ MAC Amsterdam...

Hi dear readers!

Today I want to show you my shoplog... For the first time in my 32-years of excisting, I went to a MAC store :) You're never too old to learn, and I wanted to try some of their make up. Look at the products I've bought:

MAC Eyeshadow Golden Gaze €20,-
MAC Prep & Prime Skin €22,50
MAC Fluidline Blacktrack €17,50
MAC Fix+ €16,-

I usually never wear eyeshadow, but I really liked one of their new mineralized eyeshadows called: Golden Gaze. Let's see this beauty:

MAC Mineralized Eyeshadow Golden Gaze

 Isn't it beautiful?
Although I didn't plan to buy eyeshadow, I couldn't get my eyes off of this one!
So I thought: what the hell... and bought it :)

And I'm so happy with it... I made a lot of pictures, so here they come:

How could you resist this sparkling golden color?? I'm a brunette, so I thought it would match with my hair color. Now I just have to learn how to put it on :) And if I don't get the hang of it, or if it's too dark to wear daily, I'll just make it an eyeliner with my Make Up For Ever Eye Seal-drops :)

... Okay, so far the eyeshadow... :)

I've bought some more products, so let's move on...

MAC Fix+
For those of you who don't know what is is and how to use it:
Fix+ is an aqua-spritz of vitamin and minerals, infused with a calm-the-skin blend of green tea, chamomile, cucumber, topped off with the fresh, natural, energizing scent of Sugi. Adds radiance, finishes makeup. Spray it on. Skin drinks it up (source: MACcosmetics.com)

I've bought it fix my foundation make up and to minimize the powdery effect it sometimes can give.
I also love the fact that it smells so good and ofcourse that it's good for the skin!

Another product that made me very curious is MAC's Prep & Prime Skin...

MAC Prep & Prime Skin

MAC's website described the product as:
An ultra-fluid lotion formulated with special-effect silicones. Calms and soothes the skin, blots away excess oil, and evens out skin redness. Improves the laydown and application of foundation or powder.

I'm very curious about it... I tried it on my hand in the store and it really soothes the skin and makes it very smooth and soft. Perfect base for foundation! I'm going to try it soon!

Next product I want to try for a long time is MAC's Fluidline. A gel eyeliner.

MAC Fluidline Blacktrack
Here's some more information about it:
Ultra-smooth, Fluidline’s gel formula provides the precision of a liquid liner with a silkier, softer finish. Goes on “foolproof” with a brush in an easy dip-and-stroke action. Long-wearing. Smudge-proof. Lines up in a rich array of colours and finishes. Brush sold separately.

Although I often use a liquid eyeliner, I like gel eyeliners too, and since my gel liners from Coastal Scents are a bit dried out, I wanted to try another brand, and so I bought this one!

Well... that's it... I hope you liked the products :)

I was in Amsterdam, and although that's only about half an hour driving  from my house, I don't come there very often. So I've also visited Inglot's new store in de Van Baerlestraat. Stay tuned for an upcoming post about a beautiful pallet I've bought there... (yes, again an eyeshadow!)

See you soon!

P.S. What are your favorite MAC products??
